Sunday 9th June

Easy (Ian & guest crew Alex) had one of the best starts in memory (his) and took an early lead before Magic Roundabout (Jason and guest helm Micky) got going and took what was thought to be an unassailable lead into the Roach. However, the fickle wind demanded full attention as all boats changed position multiple times around the course (Easy zooming up to round Crow in first place, Guy Fawkes (Phil and Karen) motoring through the fleet into second at Redward).

Ultimately it was Humphrey (Robert & Marc testing out some shiny new sails) who were able to break away from the fleet and take the honours after 3 hours of racing. There were some close moments going towards the finish line when the fleet were becalmed around No1 mark and it was thought that Simon and Dave in Brutus would make a late charge from the back however the wind filled in and it was Magic Roundabout and Guy Fawkes who took the remaining podium positions with Easy taking a very creditable 4th.
