A Historic Weekend Ahead for the Squibs 27 Apr 2022
This weekend’s Squib Gold Cup will be a historic moment as we welcome home to Burnham two of the low number Squibs who will be racing on the River Crouch again. They are Number ’14’, originally owned by member Richard Cosens, and four times national championship winner ’32’, owned by John Tucker. Not bad for a 1967 fibreglass keel boat (designed by Oliver Lee of Burnham on Crouch).
With 30+ boats entered for the Gold Cup, let’s keep up the momentum and reach the 40+ mark for the East Coast Championships, to be held over the Queen’s Jubilee on 2-4 June.
If anybody is interested in joining the Squib Fleet, we have a club boat for charter; or if anyone is interested in buying a Squib, please contact Dan Wastnage, Burnham Class Captain – dan@wastnage.co.uk
