September Racing For RCOD Fleet 26 Sep 2023
At last an almost perfect day for racing at Burnham – a fairly cool and shifty SSW force 3 together with some sun. The long town course was well chosen by our race officer. The beats were with the weak neap flooding tide which put a smile on the crews faces and those without echo sounders!
Corinna started towards the club end whilst Coralie, Coram and Coryphee chose the Wallasey end giving Corinna a slight advantage on starboard tack. The long beat to No. 13 resulted in several place changes so there wasn’t much in it on the rounding. Coralie chose the town side for the run back to No. 5 except thought that No. 3 was the leeward mark thus forgoing a good lead! Corinna led the way home followed by family Buckley in Coryphee.
Hopefully we can get a few more out for the last few races left this autumn – I have it on good authority that the weather will be fine for the next 4 Saturdays so no excuses!
