RCOD Easter Regatta 2014 21 Apr 2014
Six RCODs bobbed at their moorings, ready for the Easter Regatta, showing a real commitment to the new racing programme. Sadly, responsibilities to family, work and other sporting activity, together with some last minute gear failure meant that the six boats didn’t actually meet in combat at the same time!
However, it’s early days and the intention was there which bodes well for the future racing season.
There were four races and four different winning helms so the honours were well spread.

Coriander gave Willoughby cause to smile as he won his first-ever race in her, the Saturday winner was Nick Oliver’s Corella, Bobby Melville showed us the touch of the master on Sunday in Corinna who won again on Monday, clinching the trophy for the weekend, although this time Matthew Anthony was at the helm.
The Sunday race also counted as the first race for the Idler Bowl, racing for which continues on Sundays throughout the season. Sadly, the boats that did not compete this time will have used up their discard race so will have to be very canny sailors for the rest of the series.
