TRY SAILING IN MAY WITH RYA PUSH THE BOAT OUT AT THE ROYAL CORINTHIAN YACHT CLUB- 09.30am to 3.00pm
Are you looking for a new way to get outdoors and active or find something you can enjoy together with the family? If the answer is yes, we are inviting you and your family to come and try sailing for free on Sunday 19th May.
Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to get back on the water, RYA Push the Boat Out which takes place throughout May is the perfect time to give it a go.
The nationwide event will see thousands of people taking part in the sailing or windsurfing activity, with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country.
“We’re inviting the local community to come down to have a go at sailing, see what the Royal Corinthian Yacht CLub has to offer and get involved. Who knows, you might just get hooked!” commented Clive Page, Rear Commodore Sailing.
Starting at 09.30am, on Sunday 19th May there will be a whole host of activities taking place for free! we will have numerous boats, from cruisers to RCOD’s and even powerboats to simply take you out on the river if you have never been. Don’t know what any of those things are? … Then you certainly must come down to see them!
Sailing can be as physical or as relaxing as you want to make it, you can sail with others or on your own, do it competitively or potter about and just enjoy the gentle escape of being outside in the elements.
The day runs until 3.00pm and last year’s demand was great so call the office on 01621 782105 to book your slot. You can visit the club for as little or as long as you like around your booked time, complimentary tea and coffee on your arrival and refreshments to purchase if you wish to stop for longer than just your time on the river.
We have all the sailing kit- life jackets etc for you to use on the day, but please do dress appropriately, flat comfortable shoes with grip, hat and sun cream if the weather is fine and a jumper/coat if it is not!
