Cruiser Lunch- 23rd February
£15.00
Managing a Harbour for All Users
Why & How
a presentation by Bernie Hetherington
Sunday 23rd February 2020, 11:30 for 12:00 start
Retired Brightlingsea Harbour Master Bernie Hetherington will be explaining the operation of ports and harbours and the differing legal status and obligations of ports, harbours and marinas.
Bernie’s talk will give us an insight into the challenges and the joys of running a harbour. Following the talk there will be an opportunity to ask questions of Bernie about our own Crouch Harbour Authority and the other locations where we secure our lines without much thought for the organisations behind the facilities that may be catering for both our cruisers and substantial commercial shipping interests.
Bernie’s presentation will begin at 12:00 prompt and be followed at 13:00 by a carvery lunch (two courses, £15.00 pp). Dress code is smart/casual and the event is open to all members and their guests. Please book your places through the office as usual. Please pay for your meal and organise your drinks in the downstairs bar in time to be seated in the 1st floor restaurant at 12:00 mid-day.
I look forward to welcoming you to the final Cruiser lunch of this close season.
