Otter Easter Regatta 2016 9 Apr 2016

Saturday saw the Otters munching on chocolate eggs and treats aplenty as they took to the river for their annual Easter Egg Regatta. Although conditions were not the best, spirits remained high with both the Cadet and Optimist fleets managing to get in three good races before the wind died forcing the Laser, Topper and Feva fleets, unable to beat the tide, to abandon the final race in favour of a welcome tow back to the pontoon. 

Back in the clubhouse a huge lunch of spaghetti bolognese and what can only be described as a ton of Easter eggs was followed by the Prize Giving of Egg shaped trophies and yet more chocolate! The winning sailors this year truly highlight the Otter family link to the main club with Ben and Pheobe Barr taking home the Cadet Trophy, Tom and Lizzie Rands the Laser and Topper Trophies respectively, James Pitcher and Rory Kemp the Handicap Trophy and Ollie Mears the Optimist Trophy.
