GBR Blind Sailing 6 Apr 2022
With perfect sailing conditions, and with sailors with varying degrees of sailing experience and visual impairment, the weekend was about enjoying the time on the water and I think, judging by the noise coming from one boat on Sunday morning in particular I think we can say it was a success. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, getting a thorough workout on Saturday as one of the coaches put us through a series of rapid tacks, gybes and spins, and having lots of laughs on Sunday with a pair of relative beginners, but quick learners.
Thank you to all the volunteers (Nigel, Noddy, Harriet, Mark, Sophie and Owen) who really helped everyone make the most of the weekend – a lot of tired but happy sailors headed home on Sunday and we hope to be able to welcome them back later in the year.
