23 blazes entered for the Inland Championships on the 9th/10th October at Hornsea Sailing Club. It was a long drive to get there but I was greeted by beautiful sunshine and a very warm October weekend.

3 races were planned for each day and I didn’t have the best of starts on Saturday as the first race was particularly light and patchy and I ended up 6th, however, after a break for lunch we went back out for 2 back-to-back races in the afternoon with a more consistent breeze and wind direction which allowed me to get a good start in both races and go on to win both and put me in a good position.

Day 2 saw more breeze but a more awkward wind direction but I managed to get good starts which kept me consistently in the top 3 which was key to winning the weekend.

This means that Burnham sailors have won 4 of the 6 main Blaze events of the year! Long may the success continue and we are now the sailors to beat on the circuit!
