RCYC welcomes its new chef, Simon Charles. He arrived to take over the kitchen at the busiest time of the entire season – Otter Week followed by Burnham Week. He combined this with moving house and settling in with wife and small baby daughter. He is still smiling…
Simon trained as a patisserie chef and served several years on the P&O Liners. He is a former chef of two restaurants in the New Forest where he held AA rosettes for Fine Dining. He ran his own restaurant in Kelvedon, 'The Angel' where he perfected many of his own dishes with an emphasis on local and seasonal produce.
Simon is looking forward to offering members a wide range of dishes, followed by tempting desserts which will be difficult to resist…
