We Are Open!! 8 Jul 2020
This weekend the wind should decrease, the sun should come out and we will be on the water or sitting on the balcony watching some One Design Racing. It was a shame that high winds brought a halt to sailing last Saturday but the good news was that the Club opened for the first time in over 3 months and made up for the weather with a warm and safe welcome. Members, a little apprehensive at first, were reassured by seeing Tony at the front door, visor on, with a gun shaped thermometer ready to point at our foreheads before we were shown to our tables for our first meals cooked by Simon since lockdown.

Eddie has been the Director/Cameraman/Sound Recordist on the videos you’ve been watching via YouTube – thank you – they have been much appreciated.
Members are, as you can see, further apart than we used to be but the view as well as the food the drink, and the company are all as good as ever.

The staff and committee are now fine tuning for this week. As we all get the hang of the arrangements we will find them easier. If you know who you want to sit with please agree with your family or friends beforehand that you all wish to sit together whether it is on a table as a household or distanced with friends and at what time – then ring the Office and book. Tables of 3 or 4 from 2 households can be seated inside (or a household of 4 with two friends distanced is also possible). Outdoors on the balcony tables of up to 6 from 3 households are allowed. And if you have any particular requests for the situation of your table please say – it may not always be possible to meet all demands but the Club will always try. And staff will be ready to welcome members on Wednesday and Friday evenings plus weekends as usual – please ring to book: 01621 782105.
