The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham-on-Crouch is a vibrant and sociable members’ club that sits on the River Crouch and we are seeking a part time, office assistant, long-term to join our close-knit member support team.

Your role, and our club, is diverse – we host activities through the year with a programme packed with sailing, charters, events and regattas. We host private functions and weddings, as well as regular bistros and have a busy bar for members.

You will be the friendly face on a Saturday, welcoming our members and customers through the door should they have an enquiry and keeping our social media and advertising in focus and current. During the week, there will be the usual day-to-day office activities including answering telephone calls and emails, updating the club website, along with organising the sailing courses and charters that we offer.
Reporting to the office manager, you will learn about and take responsibility for your own key areas- ‘sailing’ is at the forefront and secondly ‘marketing’. We are a small and friendly team and there will be times when you will be working alone using your own initiative. Every day will be unique and full of enquiries; time management and motivation are key.

You will have:
– great customer service skills – this is a customer facing role.
– excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Social Media)
– a good memory and attention to detail, taking pride in your work.
– previous experience within a sailing or membership club environment (perhaps you have sailed yourself or sat on a committee)
– brand awareness and marketing experience is advantageous.

Working pattern

Tues- 12-5pm

Friday- 12-5pm

Saturday- 8.30 to 2.30pm

Sundays- by rota with the other office staff, three months in advance, approx 2 Sundays per month.

16 hours per week contracted.

Up to £11 per hour, based on experience.
