If anyone is interested in the role of umpires at events like the Match Racing and BKL events, or even to get a sense of how rules operate on the water, then there is an upcoming online course that might be of interest.  From Richard Moxey at the RYA:

This is the course this month; IU3 – Introduction to Umpiring Remote Course – Course Fee (eventsair.com)

It is £35 per attendee and conducted over Zoom two evenings on consecutive Tuesdays – 7-9pm, 24^th Jan & 31^st Jan.

It will look specifically at Team Racing, as this is the most common discipline, but it is relevant for Fleet and Match too; and give anyone who is interested in joining an event to shadow or umpire a good introduction.
