The RNLI alternative Boat Race 2015 10 Apr 2015
Sadly it wasn't to be a fairy tale ending but Miniature Lifeboat "the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club" number 143 was there with 249 others on the start line for the RNLI Alternative Boat Race, thanks to the support of members.
Kathryn Hutton-Penman was the lucky sponsor whose name was picked from the hat during the Fitting Out Supper and took her family to support our entry from the VIP party at The Ship in Mortlake. She reported "I could definitely make her out at the start and all went very well for a while but then well… There was a bunch that went to the pub on the south shore and I think she got taken in. The event was hilarious, the boats were perfect models and through the camera you thought you were looking at a real lifeboat."
Our boat will be returned to us so watch out for her behind the bar.
