The Mears Brothers are back in Team Pica 11 Feb 2014
The Mears brothers are back in circulation, returning to Sydney, the home of Skiff Racing and they are again entered in their 18ft Skiff, taking part in the JJ Giltinan trophy.
They have a new middle man as their former third team member, Tristan Hutt, loved the Skiff sailing so much that he now lives permanently in Sydney!
Tristan’s replacement is Matt Searle, formerly a B14 arch rival and Jamie makes the point that he looks forward to sailing alongside him rather than against, especially as Matt beat him by just one point when they last raced in Sydney.

Team Pica will be joining four other European teams this year who have had their boats in a container since San Francisco when they competed alongside the America’s cup for the spectators to see during the event.
They didn’t get their boat in the container in time for San Francisco so Stewart was snapped up to sail with a German team!
Jamie hadn’t been in a skiff since the JJ in February last year so they had a day’s training over a weekend in Grafham in another team’s boat and were glad to say it all went well.
The event starts on February 28th and can be followed by clicking the link on the right.
