Team Pica in Hungary 17 May 2012

The Hungarian event on Lake Balatonfoldvar were days of frustration for Team Pica, consisting of Jamie Mears, Tristan Hutt and Stewart Mears.

The first two days produced summery conditions with little or no wind, the following day produced too much even for hardy skiff sailors and on the last day the storm was still pumping at 26-30 knots.

Team Pica prefer the wind so had to be satisfied with results of a second and third from the two races in light conditions and a day ashore whilst the storm passed through.

With the tail end of the storm to contend with the fleet managed just one more race which Team Pica won convincingly mainly due to boat handling.

We finished a respectable second overall to Hyde sails who had two wins in the light conditions of the first races.

We flew home, leaving the boats in Hungary ready to be collected again in three weeks tine for Round Two of the European Grand Prix and the European Championships on Lake Garda.
