The final Haymans Gin Spring Handicap Series race was won this Saturday by Jason Phelps and Carl Anderson in By the Lee, who also took the overall Spring Series Cup, with runners-up Phil Aspinal and Dave Shepherd in Guy Fawkes.

Other race winners in the series were Rojo, Humphrey and Shifts and Giggles.

Current leaders of the Scratch Fleet are Micky Wright, Alex Porteous and 16-year-old Jess Wright, who helmed Spoof to victory and line honours in this week’s race.

It was also good to welcome new crews Claire Kemp and Trish Young to the fleet.

The Club was buzzing after racing as the Squib fleet celebrated a great day on the river and their prize-giving with Bistro, a few Haymans G&Ts, and great music by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club’s very own Rianna Everitt, with guitar support from Rocking Ray.

We now have a short break for the Squib East Coast Championship this weekend, followed by the start of the Summer Saturdays on 30th May.
