“ The RCYC’s Honorary member Simon Fisher ( better known as Si-Fi ) has been awarded one of yachtings most prestigious accolades the Magnus Olsson Prize. This was presented to Simon in Stockholm in August. The award ( in its 10th year) is presented to an individual who has made a notable contribution and impact to sailing. Previous recipients include fellow honorary member Sir Ben Ainslie as well as previous winners of the Ocean Race including Carolijn Brouwer, Grant Dalton and Stan Honey.

Simon has competed in the Ocean Race as navigator six consecutive times and has won it twice including the latest event in 11th Hour Racing Team. His previous win was in Abu Dhabi Racing in 2014-15 with skipper Ian Walker.
