Roger Tolhurst Memorial Trophy 14 Aug 2024
A great weekend of Sailing on the River Crouch, competing for the Roger Tolhurst Memorial Trophy.
It was refreshing to sail using River Bouys, rather than the Committee Boat starts. It meant that the races could be viewed by spectators.
2 races on the Saturday, with many angles, in front of the town. 1 race on Sunday with all three to count.
A very well organised event, organised by son of Roger, Nick.
Winner of the Trophy was Dan Wastnage, Sailing Firework, with Crew Julia Batchelor, winning by 4 points. 2nd Nick Bacon sailing a Squib for the first time, with Richard Tucker on Rojo. 3rd Nick Tolhurst sailing with Ross Corbett on What’s the Story.
13 Boats entered.
Great weekend. Blessed with Sunshine and good Breeze.
