RCYC retains the St Mathew Cup 23 Sep 2006
The St Mathew Cup was postponed from the Sunday after Burnham Week when conditions were considered too rough to sail in borrowed boats! The St Mathew Cup was eventually raced under the burgee of the CYC, the teams consisting of Dragons, Elites, RBODs and Squibs.

It was good to see a truly representative fleet from all sections of RCYC with all the helms being capped for the second year running.

My appreciation and thanks to all who took part:- Robert Campbell, Nigel Cole, Emma Wilson and Andrew Norden in the RBOD, Malcolm Hutchins and Sarah Hastwell in the Squib, Ian Gray, Matthew Anthony and Ian Simons in the Elite and Mark Wade, Mandy Wade and Alex Burnett in the Dragon.
The finish was particularly close in the Dragons; Mark Wade won by the equivalence of ‘a nose’… a bow fitting in front of the next Dragon!
Our thanks to the CYC for hosting the event.

United Hospitals Sailing Club =5
Crouch Yacht Club =2
