RCYC Celebrates Burns 5 Feb 2012
The Season’s entertainments at RCYC commenced with yet another excellent Burns’ Night celebration and a significant number of members joined in this regular event.
Stuart Munro, now relaxing as our ex-Commodore, kindly delivered the Selkirk Grace and shortly this was followed by our own “Braveheart”, Steve Jones, who once again excelled and attacked the haggis with his unique charm and sharpened dirk.
The excellent victuals were followed by the, as ever cunning, wit of Mick Hill, as he toasted the Lassies; however there was great debate as to whether the eloquent response from our Vice Commodore, Annie Reid, actually had Mick reeling even before the dancing began.
Alistair Wilson, with great clarity and style, recited the Immortal Memory and this then led to much fun and amusement as our traditional Scottish Dancers then took to the floor to complete another excellent club evening.
