Cruiser Pontoon Party 10 Jul 2023
Corinthian Cruiser Fleet – Pontoon Party
8th July 2023
This year featured four very different craft whose owners generously hosted guests from the Cruiser Fleet and the wider club membership including the Commodore.
Each of the host boats kindly provided drinks and nibbles for the guests including some specialist cocktails that packed quite a punch!
Moondance – Hunter Channel 27 – Andy & Sue Bache
One of the Hunter range of Cruisers based on the Sonata/Impala hull lines fitted with bilge keels. For cruising the taller deck moulding facilitates greater headroom. There is a new inboard diesel, larger than the original installed by Andy in the close season. This is the first full season for Andy and Sue as members of RCYC. Moondance has a berth in Burnham Yacht Harbour.
Tamarisk – One Off bespoke timber sailing Cruiser – James Napier and Corinna Gardner
Playing host on the pontoon for the second Saturday in succession James and Corrina’s visitors last week were past owners and crew including the original family who commissioned the build. The family traced her to RCYC with a little help from the club’s website. James and Corinna have each year completed significant steps towards the full restoration of their ‘pride & joy’. Tamarisk is kept on an RCYC mooring.
Pericles – Contessa 26 – Jack Page
The Contessa 26 is a classic design based on the 1940s Folkboat. Pericles is new this year to the Corinthian Cruiser fleet and is our second Contessa 26. (Trinco featured in the 2022 Pontoon Party and at the time of this Pontoon Party is making a non-stop passage to Den Helder from Southwold). Jack keeps Pericles on an RCYC mooring.
Sanderling – Jeanneau Merry Fisher – John & Patricia Waterhouse
This brand new craft was launched this year. Sanderling can be cruised with 2/4 berths and is capable of fast coastal passages made possible by the 150HP outboard engine. Sanderling has a berth in Burnham Yacht Harbour where the photo below was taken.
