Otters win Cadet National Championship 20 Aug 2012
Nicholas Sutton and Joshua Bennett were declared National Cadet Champions after competing in the 2012 Trident UK Cadet National Championships at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, 12th -17th August.
Their consistent sailing in Nasty Tern after six days of racing, enabled them to discard a sixth and eighth position, leaving the Corinthian Otters to count two victories, three seconds, one third and two fifths for a total of 21 points, ten points ahead of Matthew Shorrock and Ryan Wilkinson from Frensham Pond, in second place.
This result helped to secure the pair a place in Team GBR in the Cadet World Championships in Hobart, Australia at the end of the year.
Sam and Ben Barr, Corinthian Otters, will also be part of the team.
We have another National Champion, Arthur Brown won the Junior Optimist Championships, a splendid achievement for his age!
What with Malcolm Hutchings and Andy Ramsey winning the Squib Class last week at Cowes, it’s been a good week all round!
