Otters blessed with Fair Weather 13 Jun 2009
Saturday 13th June represented our annual Pursuit race followed by camping at Creeksea.
The Pursuit race was held under blue skies and a nice breeze, the junior Oppies starting first followed by the Senior Oppies, Cadets, Toppers, 420s and Lasers. It was a great race with the final places only sorted out in the last two minutes.
Boats were stored and then we moved to Creeksea for a night of camping. We had 130 barbeque tickets sold and the turnout was excellent. Pursuit Race prize giving was followed by children’s games, dinner and then further activites which were ended with a fathers verses Otters football (which quickly turned into rugby) match that was only halted by complete darkness.
Sunday morning broke as Saturday had ended with blue skies and a gentle breeze.
Bacon rolls were served for all, especially welcome for those who were still going strong at 1.00am the night before!
A big thank you to Kay Tavinor for all the organisation and to the Quinlans for letting us borrow their field. (I think they were somewhat surprised by the turnout having been told there would only be a few tents…)
