Letter from the Commodore 11 Jan 2011
Dear Member,
“It was nice to see so many of you at the AGM before Christmas and I hope to see more of you all throughout the year at some (or even all!) of the Club functions. I must admit a soft spot for Burns’ Night (Saturday 22nd January) which my father started many years ago and which has never failed to live up to expectations, whether it is tasting the haggis, listening to the songs, a spot of scottish dancing or a trifle too much scotch imbibed during the dinner (the etiquette really is White Horse whisky with the soup and Red Label whisky with the beef!), I would urge you to come. The compere this year is Stephen Jones who acts as an excellent host throughout the evening.
On a different matter, I would like to add my thanks to that of the staff of the Club to those of you who contributed to the staff fund before Christmas.
