Flying Fifteen World Championships 6 Aug 2011
There was a truly international turnout at the Flying Fifteen World Championships with competitors from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, St. Lucia, France, Spain, Hong Kong and Belgium amongst the 114 entries. Also there were the Waples brothers, Chris sailing Sparks and Justin in Bright Sparks.
The conditions were mixed from three races in 2 metre waves in the bay, exhilarating sailing planing down the waves, to ghosting conditions. Chris came 28th and I was 23rd, so a good result all round and importantly a great warm up for the first Flying Fifteen Open at the RCYC on September 10th/11th, and of course the Europeans next year on Lake Garda!
