Essex Quest, a regular programme on BBC Radio Essex, sends a couple of explorers by road round the countryside to a secret destination which must be found by following cryptic clues but without recourse to navigational aids or even old-fashioned maps!

The programme is broadcast live so we could hear them approaching, not having noticed the Rio Cinema, getting lost in Silver Road, but eventually turning up to find Annie Reid with the next clue on the balcony.
There was barely time to admire the view before they were off to Bradwell but not before the guns were heard to start the Dragons on their afternoon racing. It all added to the day’s excitement!
