Eight Dragons thoroughly enjoyed the week, opting for one long race per day. Team Beauty (Peter, Harriet/ Katie, Noddy) won the Bank Holiday weekend after a thrilling third race battle with Avalanche (Mark, Mandy, Heath) to decide. Anarchy (Chip, Nicola/ Rory, David) were in contention too but were too keen on the start line on Monday.

The Mid Week racing was no less challenging, with all race positions well earned. Still Crazy (Ian, Rene, Alex) picked up the win on Tuesday, Pageboy XI (Paul, Clive, Graeme) on Wednesday and Beauty took Thursday and Friday race wins. Beauty winning both the Mid Week and Weeks Points trophies from Anarchy, then Pageboy XI.

The fleet was reduced to six by the final Saturday – Trophy Day. A long course was set down-river including Outer Crouch No.1 as the final mark. The boats rounded quite spread out but on the long foul tide run home they were soon bunched up and jostling for position. After nearly three hours of racing the first five boats finished within 15 seconds of each other and Still Crazy took the win and the trophy from Anarchy by a matter of inches to round out a great week.
