707s at Easter 2012 10 Apr 2012

The RCYC 707 Easter Regatta was a very strongly contested event, with six entries, sailed over the first three days of Easter. It should have been a four day event but with the weather forecast not looking too good for the first race on Monday, the consensus was to have the prize giving on Sunday and a well earned rest the day after!

The racing was very close on all days; the most exciting finish was the second race on Saturday, where Blowfish had lead from the start. She was beaten by Race Horse in the last hundred yards or so through a weed problem. Race Horse sailed through the clear water left by Blowfish but Beaver Hunter took line honours by creeping up the North shore.
