Dragon Easter Regatta ’23

Dragon Easter Regatta ’23 13 Apr 2023

Six boats including two visitors competed in an eight race series over Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Easter Weekend. Racing was as usual very tight and competitive.

Day one – three races with three winners. Still Crazy, Page Boy and Avalanche with all three taking the second and third places. Overnight Page Boy leading with Avalanche second and Still Crazy third – all split by one point between each other.

Day two – three races  first two finishing Avalanche, Still Crazy and Fit Chick

Third race Still Crazy, Avalanche and Fit Chick. Overnight now became Avalanche, Still Crazy and Page boy third.

Final day started with Avalanche two points ahead of Still Crazy but still close.

Race seven was won by Still Crazy with Avalanche second – this closed the gap to a final race showdown between the two for final placing.

Avalanche got the drop off the start line and went on to win the race with Still Crazy second giving Avalanche the overall win by two points from Still Crazy- third overall went to Page Boy. All the results are available on the club results board here.

We must as usual thank Team Phoebe for running the event – perfect courses on each day and delaying start times until it was suitable.

We also would like to thank our two visitors – Fit Chick – Chris Grosscurth , Emma York and our own Harriet Norden as well as a newcomer to the Dragon Fleet James Mansell with Glynn Williams and Hattie Mansell. We made them all welcome and we have received very praising messages from them thanking our fleet and the Club as a whole for looking after them.
