Last weekend saw the arrival of the RS200, an opportunity to try the dinghy on the Crouch and to consider whether this is the boat of choice for the Members who would like to see a two-man dinghy class once again established at RCYC.

The RS200 was available both days; Otters and adults queued for a chance to try this exciting dinghy and put themselves as well as the boat to the test under cloudless skies and brilliant sunshine. At least sixteen helms and crews got their chance and so popular was the activity that the dinghy wasn’t pulled ashore until 18:00!
The conditions were quite exciting – a strong tide running and a good breeze.
The skills of the novice crews were immediately tested in an unfamiliar boat within seconds of leaving the pontoon…
The trial boat is available for the next two weekends, 22nd/23rd and 29th/30th March.
