Dwilla Mortimore Memorial Trust Award 5 Nov 2019
Derek Corless, whose wife, Dwilla Mortimore, died in 2017 is setting up an award in her memory. She was a management consultant working with the Coverdale organisation and she believed passionately in helping people achieve their full potential. Her clipboard sessions were legendary and helped many, including RCYC members and staff, to develop their careers. She taught people to develop their skills so that they could succeed personally and within an organisation. She was a free spirit and saw and fostered this in others.
The award will be presented yearly, and the awardee will receive a silver medallion which they will keep. The trophy is a silver clipboard which will be engraved with their name. The trophy will be kept in the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.
The award will be given to the person who has endeavoured the most to help the Club and all will be eligible, members and staff alike. The trustees will seek nominations for the award and decide who will receive the trophy and medallion.
We had hoped to present the award at the laying up supper, but we think that this year we should present it at the AGM.
Please present your sealed nomination (downloadable form, if needed is on the button above) to the RCYC office by 7th December 2019 or via email to pm@holt.eu The present trustees (Commodore Peter Marchant, Treasurer Tim Howard, Rear Commodore House David Mellard) will make the final decision.
