Eighteen members of South Woodham Ferrers Yacht Club visited our club, some by road plus four sailing cruisers that had battled down river against the morning flood to pick up a mooring and come ashore in time for Lunch. Tom Keeper and Mary Makey welcomed our visitors and the SWFYC Cruiser Captain Jo Sharpe responded.

The lunchtime gathering continued well into the late afternoon and the four cruisers wisely revised their original plans, to spend a night anchored in the Roach, deciding instead to moor overnight on our pontoon and continue savouring the delights of our bar and Bistro.

All four boats had a leisurely sail back to South Woodham Ferrers on the Sunday morning flood tide.

This is the third consecutive year that these events have taken place.  Members of our Cruiser Fleet were hosted by SWFYC earlier in July and many thanks are due to Tom Keeper for making all of the arrangements that made their reciprocal visit on Saturday a success enjoyed by all.
