Pontoon Party 12 Aug 2017

On Saturday 12th August, four cruisers arrived as host boats for the Pontoon Party. Aquarius (John Heathfield) and Beau Jolie (Julie Catesby & John Boyce) represented our motor cruisers, while Voyager (Simon & Sarah Sanders) and Scarlet (Sarah Brown and Zoe O'Connell) represented our sailing cruisers.

Around 50 members arrived to celebrate with us in the glorious evening sunshine. Our wonderful hosts provided some fine refreshments including very(!) dry Martinis, refreshing Pimms, delicious beers and a surprising Mongolian white wine.

Going from boat to boat, it was lovely listening to conversations about voyages past and plans for the future, that went far into the evening. Eventually, part we must. As the host boats moved to their night moorings, several adjourned to the Club for a splendid bistro meal.

A huge thank you to the skippers and crew of our four host boats, without whom this event could not have happened, and to our guests who made the evening so memorable.
