Mark Eagling, known to us as part of the RCYC race team, RIB driver at cruiser events and an IT wizard, showed us his young self when, in 1992, fit and suntanned, he adventurously delivered Sunsail boats from the former Yugoslavia and Italy to Greece.

With his usual laid back humour, his many cunning plans kept the supply of boats going south in high winds, big waves, very seasick crew and through a minefield during the Civil War which was the background to their trips.
He once found a berth in an overcrowded Greek harbour for three former Commodores of the RCYC – hello Peter Gimpel, Allan Munro and Ken Bushell.

Finally he paid tribute to his father, David, who with Wendy had found time to visit the fleet and bask in the Greek sun. Mark’s excellent talk was a welcome escape from our November weather.
