Chatham – River Medway
21st – 23rd June 2019
The focal point of this cruise is meeting up for dinner at one of the restaurants at Chatham Marina on Saturday 22nd. Venue to be decided when participants are known.
Our schedule is as follows:
Option to arrive Chatham Friday 21st June

Arrive Chatham Marina on the afternoon tide.
Friday arrivals will be able to visit the Historic Dockyard and Museums on Saturday.
Option to arrive Chatham Saturday 22nd June

Those crossing the Thames Estuary on Saturday may get to see some Thames Barges racing in the The Thames Sailing Barge Match. The race leaves Gravesend at 0800 and is scheduled to round the South West Barrow Buoy before returning to Gravesend.
Return to the Crouch on Sunday 23rd June

There is likely to be another spectacle in the Estuary on Sunday, the famous Nore Race. The Nore Race dates back to 1920 and normally attracts well over one hundred boats of all shapes and sizes. The race starts at Southend Pier Head at 0930 and makes it’s way out into the Estuary before finishing at the Pier Head.
Whilst in the Thames there is the opportunity to make the journey to St Katharine’s Dock before returning to the River Crouch.
