The club is south facing with superb panoramic views of the River Crouch. The ground floor has a large lounge bar suitable for convivial lunchtimes and evenings for members, their guests and visiting yachtsmen. The large balcony overhanging the water is popular in the summer months. The first floor has large modern kitchen with an excellent chef and dining facilities for up to 120, affording similar views as the ground floor. At second floor level we have bedrooms many with balconies, which are rented to members for overnight stays.
We own 100 deep-water moorings right outside the club, which we rent out at very competitive rates, particularly as VAT is not payable on members’ moorings. We run a launch service for yachtsmen to get to and from their moorings at the weekends and our large pontoon makes sure that this can run at all states of the tide. Yachts can also come alongside for provisioning and temporary day mooring. Access to boats on the moorings on weekdays is usually arranged through Rice & Cole.
Competitive racing every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season, sees substantial fleets of Dragons, Squibs, 707s and Royal Corinthian One Designs taking part. Our very active cruising section, regularly sail in company around the East Coast as well as holiday cruises to the continent and occasional local races. We have a very active youth section ‘The Corinthian Otters’ who sail Optimists, Cadets, 420s and Lasers. They are represented in most RYA squads and are successful at National and International level.
Our office is manned seven days a week and the staff will always answer any questions. We have our own large car park and on shore boat storage area with power and water available. Modern changing rooms and showers are part of our facilities, situated next to our large ramp, which is suitable for launching all types of dinghies from Optimists to 18′ skiffs…
Our crane lifts boats up to 2½ tons and the neighbouring boat yard Rice & Cole, with whom we have a close relationship, has a much larger lifting facility.
