Club Signage

  • Although this sign is getting a little scruffy, it has important information on it and I suggest we don't want to make our car park any more welcoming!

  • Again, this sign states the obvious. Still looking good after 5-6 years(?) Andy Barr made them, he would know.

  • Changing Rooms Sign - this looks in better shape than any of the others, presumably because it's been protected from the elements.

  • WARNING! SIGN OVERLOAD! I think this is the area of our signage that most needs improvement. First, the big sign has really suffered from the elements and is in need of repair. Many of the letters are peeling off, including - most importantly - the lettering that makes up our brand. Also, we have an added sign with our logo that makes it look as if we forgot some information when we created the first sign. I think that when we replace this sign, we should try to combine the two blocks of signage into just one bigger sign. Also, are we ever going to fire canons again? I do hope so, but that's a discussion for a different day... I would also move the CCTV sign around the corner onto the north wall, I don't think it's important enough to have at the top of the ramp in such a prominent position.

  • Frankly, the entrance to the club looks pretty grim at the moment, but I think that's largely down to the COVID signage that's currently mandatory. Once again, I would combine the two signs when they're replaced. Small point, I think VISITING YACHTSMEN WELCOME should be over two (or even) three lines.as putting it over one makes the sign ridiculously wide which means the logo and crest is a bit pathetic. Also, I would point smokers over to the veranda.

  • This photo clearly shows a missed opportunity - Keith seems not to have missed it however!

  • My view is that we should make far more of the space on this fencing to promote our club and our messages. Ultimately, I would like us to investigate the cost of wrapping the entire veranda in a banner. We will have to be careful to not offend the Local Signage Nazis, but I'm fairly confident we could do something quite dramatic here and not be in breech of any regulations. Thousands of potential members walk past this every year, and I feel that we are missing our biggest marketing opportunity here. Keith Gilmore isn't!

  • I have just noticed this 'handrail'. Who paid for it? Is it just an attempt to stop people sitting on the wall? as I don't think there is any record of anybody falling over it...
