The 707 Eastern Area Championships 2015 27 May 2015
The 707 Eastern Areas was hosted, as usual, by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club at Burnham over the Saturday and Sunday of the late May bank holiday weekend. Four races each day were scheduled, and six boats were entered.
The four races on Saturday were closely fought in ideal force 3 conditions, with results fairly evenly distributed between the top 4 boats. Sharky led the way followed by Beaver Hunter, Racehorse, and Baby Beluga.
Sunday’s races followed a similar pattern. Racehorse had the better results but not good enough to overhaul Sharky, with Beaver Hunter 3rd, and Baby Beluga 4th. Special mention must go to Little Red Rooster who raced 2-up on Sunday, and were reasonably competitive – even managing to beat Beaver Hunter in one race! Aquaholic were not able to race on Sunday hence came sixth overall.
So congratulations to Andy Hughes and the rest of the Sharky boys, visiting from Hartlepool. Very well deserved and popular Eastern Area Champions 2015. Results can be found here.
