40TH ANNIVERSARY REGATTA

THE RAFFLE RULES -
EXTRACT FROM THE NOTICE OF RACE


23. PRIZES

23.2 The raffle prize will be a new race prepared Parker built National Squib One Design racing yacht with road trailer and lighting board.

24. THE 'RAFFLE RULES'

24.1 Raffle tickets will only be issued free of charge to entered boats and are not transferable to any third party under any circumstances.

24.2 Each entered boat will receive an equal number of raffle tickets subject to the boat starting four or more races unless NOR 21.1 applies then that number of races will apply.

24.3 The winning boat in each race will be given one additional raffle ticket.

24.4 Additional raffle tickets may be issued to boats by way of a simple draw between the boats entered. Any such draw will take place at the daily prize giving. Additional raffle tickets must be collected at the time of the draw by the winning boats helm or crew. In the case of absence the draw will be made again until such time as the ticket is claimed.

24.5 The raffle draw will take place during the National Squib 40thAnniversary Grand Prize Giving Gala Dinner (NOR 7.). The prize must be collected at the time of the draw by the winning boats helm or crew. In the case of absence the draw will be made again until such time as the prize is claimed.

24.6 The prize must be removed from the RCYC by Saturday 6th July.

24.7 The organisers will insure the prize until such time as it is removed or until the 6th July after which time the winner must make their own insurance arrangements. The replacement cost of the boat is £15,000.

24.8 The winner agrees at their cost, to enter and race the boat at the National Squib Championships in 2009 and Inland Championships in either 2008 or 2009. The boat will be raced as is with the sponsors advertising material attached.

24. 9 The boat will be named 'By the Lee' in memory of and as a tribute to the class designer Oliver Lee. The name of the boat must not be changed. Any future owner of the boat must be made aware of this agreement and asked to abide by it.
